Features
- The Schneider Electric GV2P07 is a TeSys GV2 thermal-magnetic motor circuit breaker. Unlike the "ME" series which uses push buttons, the "P" series features a rotary handle. This provides a very clear visual indication of the switch status (ON, OFF, or TRIPPED) and offers a more ergonomic feel for operators in Canadian industrial environments.
- This model has an adjustable thermal trip range of 1.6 to 2.5 Amps. By turning the dial on the front to match your motor's Full Load Amps (FLA), you provide tailored protection. It is specifically designed to handle the inrush current of small 3-phase motors (typically around 1.5 HP at 600V or 0.5 HP at 230V) while protecting them from damaging overloads.
- The GV2P series generally offers higher breaking capacities than the standard push-button versions. The GV2P07 is rated for 100kA at 230V, 400V, and even 500V, and 8kA at 690V. This "High-Break" performance makes it suitable for use in Canadian facilities with high available fault currents, such as large manufacturing plants or utility installations.
- The rotary handle is designed with safety in mind. It can be padlocked in the "OFF" position without any extra accessories. This simplifies compliance with Canadian workplace safety regulations, ensuring that maintenance personnel can safely de-energize the motor before servicing the machinery.
- In addition to the thermal element that watches for slow overloads, the GV2P07 features a magnetic trip set to 33.5 Amps. This provides instantaneous protection against short circuits, cutting off power in milliseconds to protect the motor, the cable, and the operator from the energy of an electrical fault.
