- The Schneider GV2P16 is a 3-pole (3P) manual motor circuit breaker from the TeSys Deca (formerly TeSys GV2) range. It provides comprehensive motor control and protection in a single compact device, combining the functions of a manual disconnect, short-circuit protection, and thermal overload protection.
- The GV2P16 features an adjustable thermal trip setting of 9 to 13 Amps. This range is specifically designed for small to medium 3-phase motors. For example, it is typically used for 5.5 kW motors at 400/415V or approximately 7.5 HP to 10 HP at 480V/600V (depending on the motor's specific FLA). The adjustable dial allows you to calibrate the protection precisely to your motor's nameplate data.
- Despite its small size, this breaker is engineered for high-performance safety. It offers an ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu) of 100kA at 400/415V and 42kA at 480V (UL/CSA). This "high breaking capacity" rating means it can safely interrupt even massive electrical faults without failing, protecting your downstream equipment and personnel.
- Unlike the "push-button" style of the GV2ME series, the GV2P16 uses an ergonomic rotary handle. This handle provides clear visual status (ON, OFF, TRIP) and is designed for high durability, guaranteed for 100,000 mechanical and electrical cycles. The rotary design also allows for easy integration with door-mounted extended handle kits for control panel exteriors.
