Description

TeSys GV motor circuit breaker, 3 poles (3P), 14A/690V, for 3-phase motor applications 5.5kW@400V. It provides a thermal-magnetic protection with a thermal setting range 9-14A, magnetic tripping at 13xIn, high breaking capacity Icu 15kA@400V. Connection by screw clamp terminals. Start-stop control by push-button guaranteed for 100 000 cycles AC-3. Multi standards certified (IEC, UL, CSA, CCC, EAC, Marine, ATEX), Green Premium compliant (RoHS/REACh).

Features

  • The Schneider Electric GV2ME16 is a TeSys GV2 thermal-magnetic motor circuit breaker. It is a "2-in-1" device that provides manual ON/OFF control via push buttons and automatic protection against overloads and short circuits. By eliminating the need for separate fuses and overload relays, it significantly reduces the footprint and wiring complexity of Canadian industrial motor starters.
  • This model features a thermal setting range of 9.0 to 14.0 Amps. Using the adjustable dial on the front, you can match the breaker exactly to your motor's Nameplate Full Load Amps (FLA). This is the "sweet spot" for many common Canadian industrial applications, typically protecting 7.5 HP (5.5 kW) motors at 600V or 3 HP motors at 230V.
  • In addition to the thermal overload protection, the GV2ME16 contains a magnetic trip element set to 170 Amps. In the event of a phase-to-phase or phase-to-ground short circuit, the breaker trips in milliseconds, protecting your wiring and downstream equipment from the catastrophic "let-through" energy of a fault.
  • The GV2ME16 is sensitive to phase loss. If one of the three phases fails (single-phasing), the internal mechanism detects the current imbalance and trips the motor. This is a critical feature for Canadian facilities where a lost phase can quickly overheat motor windings and lead to expensive replacement costs.
