    Description

    This Modicon MCM safe output expansion module has 4 start/restart interlock inputs, 4 output OSSD pairs and 4 status outputs and is fitted with captive screw clamp terminals. It is designed to monitor remotely your safe I/O. It is furnished with screw clamp terminals, removable terminal block for electrical connection. It is an IP20 rated product. This safe I/O module figures configurable filters and delays for each single input, configurable output activation and de-activation delays, independent control of pairs of outputs, and configurable diagnostic output signals. This module figures LEDs on its front face, displaying the status (power supply, run, internal or external errors, input and output status). This safe I/O module is connected to the safety controller via the backplane expansion connector. It weighs 0.25kg. Its dimension are 22.5mm (Depth), 99mm (Height) and 114.5mm (Width). Its housing is red. It is powered with 24 VDC. It is ideal for monitoring safety functions such as emergency stop, guard monitoring, perimeter guarding, position monitoring, speed monitoring and enabling movement. This safe I/O module is certified by RCM, CULus and TÜV. It can reach such safety levels as category 4 conforming to EN/ISO 13849-1, PLe conforming to EN/ISO 13849-1, Type 4 conforming to EN/IEC 61496-1, and SILCL3 conforming to IEC 62061. Compatible accessories for Modicon MCM module are a memory card and the backplane connector. The module instals on Omega 35mm DIN rail conforming to EN 50022. The Modicon MCM modular safety controller system provide flexibility and scalability from 8 inputs, 2 dual/4 single channel outputs up to 128 inputs, 16 dual/32 single channel outputs, up to 32 or 48 diagnostic status outputs. Modicon MCM modular safety controller system are designed to monitor multiple safety functions on and around a machine to minimise the risk of people accessing the dangerous moving parts of the machine.

It allows automation technicians to directly control up to four distinct safety actuators—such as emergency stop loops, guard monitoring systems, interlocks, or perimeter guarding light curtains—from a single compact point.
    • Featuring 4 integrated inputs for Start/Restart interlock and External Device Monitoring (EDM), this expansion card automatically cross-checks the physical switching state of connected contactors or drives. This eliminates hidden faults by preventing a machine restart if a downstream contactor is welded shut, immediately boosting overall cell reliability.
    • Built with 4 configurable PNP diagnostic status outputs, this module routes localized, real-time diagnostic signals back to the central processing architecture without consuming critical safety lines. Combined with a comprehensive front-facing LED matrix that signals power, operation, internal errors, and individual I/O status, field engineers can isolate faults instantly to minimize plant-floor troubleshooting downtime.
    • The unit features 6 removable captive screw clamp terminal blocks that accept wiring from AWG 24 down to AWG 14. This pluggable terminal block architecture allows field maintenance teams to fully swap out a physical module during preventative service cycles without removing or rewiring individual field cables, keeping system commissioning fast and error-free.
