Description
These TeSys VLS disconnect switches are for integration into control systems in applications like material handling, HVAC, pumping, solar energy, mining and many more. This family of disconnect switches has switches ranging from 16A to 125A. The 16A, 25A, 32A, 40A and 63A disconnect switches are UL508 motor disconnect switches rated. The 63A, 80A, 100A and 125A disconnect switches are UL98 non fusible disconnect switch rated. This 100A disconnect switch has 3 normally open poles and mounts on DIN rail. Per UL and CSA this this disconnect switch has a 5 HP rating at 120 VAC and a 10 HP at 240 VAC single phase. Per UL and CSA this disconnect switch has a 30 HP rating at 200 to 208 VAC and 240 VAC, a 50 HP rating at 480 VAC and 600 VAC three phase. Per UL508A this this disconnect switch has up to a 50 kA at 600 V short circuit current rating (SCCR) with a 100A Type J fuse maximum. Per IEC requirements, this disconnect switch has a 55 kW rating at 400 V, a 45 kW rating at 500 V and a 45 kW rating at 690V three phase. The screw clamp terminals will accept 10 mm solid or 16 mm stranded wire. The clamps will also accept from 12 AWG to 1 AWG wire. This disconnect switch is 3.94 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide and 2.95 inches deep. The switch weighs 0.80 lbs. There are many handles and accessories available this TeSys VLS disconnect switch. - Rated for a full 100 Amps under UL98 requirements (100A per IEC) at up to 600V AC, this Size 2 non-fusible body switch manages demanding heavy inductive motor loops up to 30 HP at 240V, 50 HP at 480V, and 50 HP at 600V AC. For facility managers, this dense performance allows you to run high-capacity air compressors, industrial extraction fans, and massive processing lines safely through a highly condensed switch framework.
- Fully certified to the stringent UL98 and CSA C22.2 No. 4 safety criteria, this device is classified as a branch-circuit emergency main isolation device rather than a basic motor-rated controller. This premium specification means the housing can be positioned on the line side of upstream overcurrent protection systems, simplifying compliance checks for complex industrial code panels and electrical service entrances.
- Boasting an exceptionally space-efficient layout, this Size 2 switch measures just 70mm (2.76 inches) wide, 75mm (2.95 inches) tall, and 100mm (3.94 inches) deep. The low-profile modular chassis clips securely onto a standard 35mm DIN rail or backplate, enabling automation panel assembly crews to squeeze heavy current isolation links into crowded electrical cabinets and compact marshalling enclosures.
- The heavy-duty screw-clamp terminal terminals are specifically designed with an wide landing profile that tightly anchors copper wires ranging from 12 AWG up to 1 AWG (or up to 70 mm² flexible cables). Torquing down to the factory-certified specification of 44.2 to 53.1 lbf-in (5 to 6 N-m) establishes a solid, gas-tight mechanical clamp that resists machine vibrations and thermal movement, eliminating localized hot spots and joint failures.
