Description
This Harmony XB4 emergency stop / shutdown 40mm mushroom head modular red push button operates with a latched turn to release mechanism. It has a metal bezel. This emergency stop / shutdown button, also called EMS (Emergency Machine Stop) and EMO (Emergency Off), is easily installed into a standard 22mm diameter cut-outs and connected with simple screw-clamp connections. It is clearly distinguishable visually at a distance thanks to a clear color and a prominent 40mm mushroom shape. It is impact resistant, dust resistant, water resistant and vibration resistant thanks to its IP66, making it ideal for operation in harsh environments.
Features
- The XB4BS8442 is a 40mm red mushroom head Emergency Stop (E-Stop) push button that features a "Trigger Action" and mechanical latching. This ensures that the electrical contacts only change state once the button is fully actuated, preventing accidental stops and complying with ISO 13850 and IEC 60204-1 safety requirements for machine guarding.
- Designed with a secure "turn-to-release" mechanism, this button remains latched in the depressed position until a deliberate clockwise twist is applied. This prevents the machine from being restarted prematurely or accidentally, ensuring that the operator must physically acknowledge the cleared hazard before the control circuit can be re-energized.
- Featuring the legendary Harmony XB4 metal construction, this 22mm modular unit is built for extreme durability. With IP66, IP67, IP69, and IP69K ratings, it is completely dust-tight and resistant to high-pressure hot water jets, making it the ideal choice for food processing, automotive, and heavy manufacturing sectors where chemical exposure and physical impacts are common.
- The Schneider Harmony XB4 series uses a modular mounting collar system that allows for tool-free contact block replacement once the base is installed. This reduces maintenance downtime significantly; if a contact block wears out, you can simply snap on a new ZBE102 block without having to replace the entire mushroom head or rewire the panel from scratch.
