Features
- The Mersen ATQR2 is a 2-Amp, 600V time-delay fuse. As a Class CC "rejection-style" fuse, it is specifically designed to provide branch circuit protection in a compact 13/32" times 1-1/2" footprint. In Canada, this is the industry-standard fuse for protecting the primary side of small control transformers.
- The "QR" in the part number stands for its specialized Time-Delay properties. Unlike the fast-acting ATMR series, the ATQR2 is engineered to handle the massive "magnetic inrush" current that occurs the moment a control transformer is energized. It will hold through these brief spikes but trip reliably if a sustained overload or short circuit occurs, preventing "nuisance blowing" in Canadian industrial panels.
- The ATQR2 features the Class CC rejection nipple. This physical feature ensures that it can only be inserted into a Class CC fuse holder (like the Mersen USCC series). This prevents a technician from accidentally installing a non-rejection "midget" fuse, which lacks the high interrupting rating required to safely protect a branch circuit under the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
- Despite its small size, the ATQR2 is rated to safely clear up to 200,000 Amps of fault current at 600V AC. This allows it to be used directly on high-capacity industrial feeders, ensuring that even a major short circuit at the transformer primary will be cleared safely without damaging the fuse holder or surrounding wiring.
