Description
Amp-Trap 2000® AJT fuses provide non-indication as well as a SmartSpot visual open fuse indicator. With advanced material technology the AJT fuse provides IEC Type 2 No Damage protection to main, feeder, and branch circuits, for all types of loads — yet, they require only half the mounting space needed for 600VAC Class RK fuses. AJT’s time-delay characteristics are ideal for handling typical motor and transformer inrush currents, while also providing superior current-limiting ability.
Features
- The Mersen AJT35 features a sophisticated time-delay characteristic that allows it to withstand the temporary high-current inrush of motors and transformers. It provides a minimum 10-second delay at 500% of the rated current, effectively eliminating "nuisance blowing" while still providing fast-acting protection against dangerous short circuits.
- As a Class J fuse, the AJT35 is significantly more compact than legacy Class R or Class H fuses. Its unique "rejection" style physical dimensions prevent the accidental installation of lower-rated fuses into the circuit, ensuring that the engineered safety levels of your Canadian industrial control panels are always maintained.
- Boasting a 200,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIC) at 600V AC, the AJT35 is designed to safely clear even the most catastrophic short circuits. This industry-leading capacity prevents arc-flash damage and protects both personnel and expensive facility infrastructure from high-energy faults.
- The AJT35 is highly current-limiting, clearing faults so rapidly that it prevents the peak current from ever reaching its full destructive potential. This drastically reduces the "let-through" energy ($I^2t$), allowing you to use standard-rated downstream components like contactors and breakers with a higher level of overall system safety.
