• The Mersen AJT45 is a 45-Amp, 600V AC Class J time-delay fuse. It is a high-performance, current-limiting fuse designed to provide overcurrent protection for motors, feeders, and branch circuits. It is specifically engineered to handle the high inrush currents of industrial motors without "nuisance tripping."
• The AJT45 features a deliberate time-delay (minimum 10 seconds at 500% of the rated current). This allows the fuse to "ride through" the temporary high-current surge that occurs when a motor starts up, while still providing lightning-fast protection against dangerous short circuits.
• Class J fuses are physically smaller than standard Class R or Class H fuses of the same rating. This allows for more compact fuse blocks and disconnect switches, saving valuable space in industrial control panels. The AJT45 measures approximately 1-1/8" in diameter and 2-3/8" in length.
• As an Amp-Trap 2000 series fuse, the AJT45 is highly current-limiting. In the event of a severe short circuit, it reacts so quickly that it limits the "let-thru" energy to a fraction of the available fault current. This significantly reduces the risk of arc flash and prevents catastrophic damage to downstream components like contactors and overload relays.
• The AJT45 has a massive interrupting capacity (I.R.) of 200,000 Amps (200kA) at 600V AC. It is also DC-rated at 500V DC (100kA I.R.). This high rating makes it suitable for use in almost any industrial electrical system, regardless of the available fault current from the utility.
