Description
Amp-Trap 2000® AJT fuses provide non-indication as well as a SmartSpot visual open fuse indicator. With advanced material technology the AJT fuse provides IEC Type 2 No Damage protection to main, feeder, and branch circuits, for all types of loads — yet, they require only half the mounting space needed for 600VAC Class RK fuses. AJT’s time-delay characteristics are ideal for handling typical motor and transformer inrush currents, while also providing superior current-limiting ability.

- The Mersen AJT40 is a 40-Amp, 600V AC/DC Class J fuse designed for industrial power distribution. As part of the Amp-Trap 2000® family, it provides "Smart-Style" protection by combining a time-delay characteristic for motor startups with high-speed current limitation to protect sensitive electronic components.
- Featuring a specialized time-delay design, the AJT40 is engineered to withstand the momentary current spikes associated with motor starting and transformer inrush. This prevents nuisance tripping during equipment startup while providing the necessary protection to prevent long-term thermal damage to windings and insulation.
- The AJT40 is a highly current-limiting fuse. In the event of a fault, it clears the circuit in less than half a cycle, physically restricting the amount of peak "let-through" energy. This significantly reduces the incident energy levels, lowering arc flash hazards for personnel and minimizing the mechanical stress on your switchgear and bus bars.
- Despite its compact physical size, the AJT40 boasts a massive 200,000 Amp interrupting rating (AIC). This ensures it can safely stop catastrophic short circuits in modern, high-capacity electrical systems without the risk of explosive failure, protecting both your equipment and your facility's infrastructure.
- This model is equipped with an integrated visual blown-fuse indicator. A high-visibility orange pop-up or window allows maintenance teams to identify the faulted circuit immediately from a distance. This "SmartSpot" technology reduces troubleshooting time and prevents the dangerous practice of testing live fuses with a multimeter in high-voltage panels.
