Description
Homeline miniature circuit breakers are engineered and designed for fast installation and superior circuit protection. Homeline circuit breakers are designed to plug into Homeline load centers to provide circuit protection. This circuit breaker provides standard circuit protection and is HACR rated. This 1 pole circuit breaker with plug in mounting is rated 15A at 12 VAC. HOM breakers provide 1 kA breaking capacity. This dual function Homeline circuit breaker combines arc fault and ground fault circuit interrupters. This circuit breaker provides overload and short circuit protection, plus arc fault and ground fault protection in a single device in accordance with the NEC, UL1699 and UL943. This breaker has a plug on neutral. The electrical connection is a clamp terminal that will accept 2 wires. The clamp terminal will accept a wire range of 14 AWG to 8 AWG copper or aluminum wire. This circuit breaker has a height of 3.13 inches, a width of 1. inch and depth of 2.98 inches. CHOM Homeline miniature circuit breakers are CSA certified.
Features
- The Schneider Electric (Square D) CHOM115PDF is a 15-Amp, 1-pole "Dual Function" circuit breaker. It provides the highest level of residential protection by combining Combination Arc Fault (CAFCI) and Ground Fault (GFCI) technologies into a single device. This allows you to meet the strict requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) for both arc-fault protection (standard in most rooms) and ground-fault protection (required near water sources) using just one breaker space.
- The "P" in the part number denotes Plug-On Neutral. Unlike older AFCI/GFCI breakers that require a white "pigtail" wire to be manually connected to the neutral bar, this breaker features a metal clip on the back that snaps directly onto the neutral bar of a compatible Homeline loadcentre. This results in a much cleaner, faster installation and significantly reduces wire clutter in your panel.
- Rated for 15 Amps at 120V AC, the CHOM115PDF is the standard choice for protecting general-purpose bedroom, living room, and hallway circuits. Because of its dual-function capability, it is especially ideal for circuits that serve "combined" areas, such as a bedroom circuit that also powers an en suite bathroom receptacle or an outdoor outlet.
- One of the most useful features for homeowners and electricians is the built-in TIME SAVER diagnostics. By following a simple sequence with the test button (e.g., holding the button during a reset), the breaker will blink to indicate whether the last trip was caused by a ground fault, an arc fault, or a standard overload. This takes the guesswork out of troubleshooting.
- Following the Square D color-coding standard, the CHOM115PDF features a purple push-to-test button. This allows anyone to quickly distinguish it from standard breakers (no button), pure AFCI breakers (green or white buttons), or pure GFCI breakers (yellow buttons) within a crowded Canadian electrical panel.
