Description
Homeline miniature circuit breakers are engineered and designed for fast installation and superior circuit protection. Homeline circuit breakers are designed to plug into Homeline load centers to provide circuit protection. This circuit breaker provides standard circuit protection and is HACR rated. This 2 pole circuit breaker with plug in mounting is rated 2A at 12/24 VAC. HOM breakers provide 1 kA breaking capacity. The electrical connection is a clamp terminal that will accept 2 wires. The clamp terminal will accept a wire range of 14 AWG to 8 AWG copper or aluminum wire. This circuit breaker has a height of 3.13 inches, a width of 2. inch and depth of 2.98 inches. Features
- The CHOM220 is a 2-pole, 20-Amp Homeline (CHOM) Miniature Circuit Breaker designed for 240V residential circuits. It is the standard protection choice for smaller heavy-duty appliances that require a dedicated two-wire feed, such as baseboard heaters, small well pumps, and some localized HVAC equipment.
- This breaker is engineered exclusively for Schneider Electric Homeline load centers. It utilizes a 2-inch wide "plug-on" design that occupies two 1-inch spaces on the bus bar. It is not compatible with Square D QO (Premium) panels, nor will it fit into panels from Eaton or Siemens. Always verify that your panel is labeled "Homeline" or "CHOM" before installation.
- Featuring an internal common-trip mechanism, the CHOM220 ensures that if a fault or overload occurs on one "hot" leg, both poles trip simultaneously. This prevents "single-phasing," a condition where a motor or heater remains partially powered, which can lead to equipment burnout or electrical fires in 240V systems.
- For a standard 20-Amp installation, this breaker should be paired with 12 AWG conductors. Its robust box-lug terminals provide a secure connection for both copper and aluminum wire (#14 to #8 AWG). The simple snap-in design allows for rapid installation, while the center-trip handle position provides immediate visual confirmation of a fault.
- The Schneider Electric CHOM220 is fully CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certified and designed to meet the rigorous requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
