Description
CHOM Homeline miniature circuit breakers are engineered and designed for fast installation and superior circuit protection. Homeline circuit breakers are designed to plug into Homeline load centers to provide circuit protection. This circuit breaker provides standard circuit protection and is HACR rated. This 2 pole circuit breaker with plug in mounting is rated 15 A at 120/240 VAC. CHOM breakers provide 10 kA breaking capacity. The electrical connection is a clamp terminal that will accept 2 wires. The clamp terminal will accept a wire range of 14 AWG to 8 AWG copper or aluminum wire. This circuit breaker has a height of 3.13 inches, a width of 2.0 inch and depth of 2.98 inches. CHOM Homeline miniature circuit breakers are CSA certified.
Features
- The CHOM215 is a 2-pole, 15-Amp Homeline (CHOM) Miniature Circuit Breaker designed for 240V residential circuits. It provides simultaneous overcurrent protection for both "hot" legs of a circuit, making it the standard choice for smaller 240V loads such as electric baseboard heaters, small well pumps, or localized HVAC equipment.
- This breaker is engineered exclusively for Schneider Electric Homeline load centers. It features a 2-inch wide "plug-on" design that occupies two 1-inch spaces on the bus bar. It is not compatible with Square D QO (Premium) panels, nor will it fit into panels from Eaton, Siemens, or GE. Always verify your panel is labeled "Homeline" or "CHOM" before installation.
- Featuring an internal common-trip mechanism, the CHOM215 ensures that if a fault or overload occurs on one leg, both poles trip simultaneously. This is a critical safety feature that prevents "single-phasing," where a motor or heater remains partially energized, reducing the risk of equipment damage and electrical fires.
- For a standard 15-Amp installation, this breaker should be paired with 14 AWG copper conductors. Its box-lug terminals are designed to provide a secure, high-pressure connection for both copper and aluminum wire (#14 to #8 AWG). The snap-in mounting allows for rapid installation, while the center-trip handle position provides clear visual confirmation of a fault.
- The Schneider Electric CHOM215 is fully CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certified and meets the requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC). With a 10,000 AIR (Amperes Interrupting Rating), it provides reliable, professional-grade circuit protection for Canadian residential construction and home renovation projects.
