The Square D™ by Schneider Electric brand General Duty Safety Switch is designed to be tough, reliable and provide exceptional performance in the most grueling conditions. General Duty Safety Switch are designed for commercial, institutional, industrial & manufacturing facilities. Electrical interlocks for Series F,100–200A, general duty safety switches, are available in kit form for field installation. Each kit contains instructions for proper field mounting. A pivot arm operates from switch mechanism, breaking the control circuit before the main switch blades break. Switches with electrical interlocks installed are UL Listed. For factory-installed electrical interlocks add EI (for one contact) or EI2 (for two contacts) suffix to catalog number. - Featuring a Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) configuration with one Normally Open and one Normally Closed contact, this kit integrates auxiliary signaling directly with your heavy-duty disconnect. - By installing this kit as an electrical interlock, the contacts can be configured to open before the main power poles of the safety switch break. This mechanical lead time allows control circuits to safely drop out magnetic contactors or variable frequency drives (VFDs) first, completely eliminating high-energy inductive arcing across the main switch blades and greatly extending your electrical infrastructure's service life.
