Description
QO and QOB one, two and three pole thermal magnetic circuit breakers provide overcurrent protection and switching on ac and dc systems. These circuit breakers have an over center, trip-free toggle mechanism with quick-make, quick break action and positive handle indication. They also have VisiTrip trip indication, which provides a visual indication that the circuit breaker has tripped and interrupted the circuit. This QO miniature breaker is rated as 15 A, 12/24 V, and 2 poles. This unit provides 1 kA breaking capacity and plug-on mounting. A full line of factory installed accessories is also available such auxiliary switches, alarm switches, and shunt trips. This unit is compatible with plug-on neutral system. QO breakers use a compact 3/4 inch width design for small system footprint. QO circuit breakers are UL Listed under UL File E84967 and are CSA Certified under CSA Master Contract 153555
Features
- The QO215 is a premium 2-pole, 15-Amp Miniature Circuit Breaker designed for Square D QO load centers. It provides simultaneous overcurrent protection for both "hot" legs of a 120/240V circuit. It is the go-to choice for protecting smaller 240V residential and commercial loads, such as electric baseboard heaters, small well pumps, or 240V lighting circuits.
- A signature feature of the QO215 is the patented Visi-Trip red indicator. When the breaker trips due to a fault or overload, a highly visible red flag snaps into view in the window. This allows you to identify the specific tripped circuit instantly among a sea of black handles, even in dark electrical closets or basements.
- This breaker is engineered exclusively for Square D QO "Blue Label" load centers and NQ panelboards. It uses a 1.5-inch wide (two 3/4-inch spaces) plug-on design. Note: It is not cross-compatible with Square D Homeline, Eaton, Siemens, or GE panels. Always check for the "QO" branding on your panel door before purchasing.
- The QO215 is built with an internal common-trip mechanism. If a short circuit or overload occurs on just one of the poles, both poles trip at exactly the same time. This prevents "single-phasing"—a condition where a motor or heater remains partially energized, which can lead to overheating, equipment failure, or electrical fires.
- The Square D QO215 is UL Listed and CSA Certified with a 10,000 AIR (Amperes Interrupting Rating). It features high-quality pressure plate terminals that ensure a secure, gas-tight connection for copper or aluminum conductors (#14 to #8 AWG). Its "Quick-Make, Quick-Break" mechanism reduces internal arcing, significantly extending the life of the breaker.
