Description
QO and QOB one, two and three pole thermal magnetic circuit breakers provide overcurrent protection and switching on ac and dc systems. These circuit breakers have an over center, trip free toggle mechanism with quick make, quick break action and positive handle indication. They also have VisiTrip trip indication, which provides a visual indication that the circuit breaker has tripped and interrupted the circuit. This 2 pole QO circuit breaker is rated at 50A at 120/240VAC. This unit provides 10kA breaking capacity and plug in mounting. A full line of features and factory installed accessories are also available such as shunt trips, auxiliary switches and alarm switches. QO circuit breakers are UL Listed under UL File E84967 and are CSA Certified under CSA Master Contract 153555. Features
- The Schneider Square D QO250 is a two-pole circuit breaker rated for 50 Amps and 120/240V AC. It is the standard heavy-duty solution for high-demand residential and commercial appliances, typically used to protect electric ranges, hot tubs, large central air conditioning units, and Level 2 EV charging stations.
- As part of the flagship QO (Square D) line, this breaker features a more compact 3/4-inch per pole width (1.5 inches total) and a higher build quality designed for both residential and demanding industrial environments. It is engineered for long-term reliability and is widely considered the industry benchmark for circuit protection.
- One of the most critical safety features of the QO250 is the integrated Visi-Trip™ indicator. When the breaker trips due to a fault, a high-visibility red mechanical flag appears in a dedicated window on the breaker face. This allows homeowners and electricians to instantly identify the faulted circuit without guessing whether a handle is in the "off" or "tripped" position.
- This model features the standard QO plug-on connection, designed to snap securely onto the bus bar of any Square D QO load center or NQ panelboard. The high-pressure "jaw" design ensures a gas-tight, vibration-resistant electrical contact that maintains its integrity over decades of service.
- The QO250 utilizes a thermal-magnetic trip mechanism. It provides a time-delay for standard temporary surges (like an A/C compressor starting up) but offers instantaneous protection against high-energy short circuits with a 10kA interrupting rating (AIR). This prevents wire overheating and significantly reduces the risk of electrical fires.
