Description
TeSys GS fuse switch-disconnector, 3 poles (3P), 60A/750V, to be used with class J fuse links up to 60A, for motor applications up to 30kW@400V AC-23. To be equipped with an external front side mounting operating handle GS2AH (several models available). It provides screw terminals with 3P terminal shrouds, high short circuit current rating 100kA@600V. Add-on auxiliary contact modules, front mounting GS1AM (early-break and position signaling), side mounting GS1AN (position signaling) can complete the assembly (to be ordered separately). UL/CSA certified, Green Premium compliant (RoHS/REACh).
Features
- The Schneider Electric GS2GU3N is a 3-pole, 60A fusible disconnect switch designed for high-performance motor control and branch circuit protection. Part of the TeSys GS family, it combines a high-speed manual disconnect with a specialized fuse holder. This "IEC-style" design is favored in Canadian industrial panels because it takes up significantly less space than traditional NEMA-style safety switches.
- Rated for 60 Amps at 600V AC, the GS2GU3N is built for substantial industrial loads. In a standard 3-phase system, it can handle motors up to 50 HP at 600V or 30 HP at 480V. It is also rated for DC applications up to 250V DC, making it a versatile choice for solar arrays or DC motor drives in the Canadian resource sector.
- This unit is specifically designed to be used with Class J fuses (like the Mersen AJT series). Class J fuses are physically compact yet provide an incredible 100kA short-circuit current rating (SCCR). This high level of protection is essential for Canadian manufacturing facilities located near utility transformers, as it ensures the switch can safely clear catastrophic electrical faults.
- It is important to note that the GS2GU3N is the switch body only. To make it functional, it must be paired with an external rotary handle (e.g., GS2AH130) and a shaft extension (e.g., GS2AE series). This modularity allows the switch to be mounted deep inside a cabinet while the handle is mounted on the door, keeping operators safe from arc-flash hazards.
