Description
Features
- The Schneider Electric GV2ME07 is a TeSys GV2 thermal-magnetic motor circuit breaker. It serves as a dual-purpose component for your control panel: it provides a manual ON/OFF switch (via push buttons) and automatic short-circuit and overload protection. By combining these into one unit, it replaces the need for a separate fuse block and an overload relay, saving significant DIN rail space in Canadian industrial enclosures.
- This model features a wide thermal adjustment range of 1.6 to 2.5 Amps. Using the small dial on the front, you can set the precise Full Load Amps (FLA) of your specific motor. This ensures the breaker "breathes" with the motor, allowing for normal start-up inrush while providing a reliable trip if the motor stalls or draws too much current due to a mechanical jam.
- The GV2ME series is distinguished by its push-button interface (Start/Stop). This mechanical design is incredibly robust and provides clear tactile feedback. The "Stop" button can also be used to manually trip the device for maintenance, and it can even be locked in the "OFF" position with a padlock (using a specialized accessory) to meet Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety requirements.
- In addition to thermal protection, the GV2ME07 includes a magnetic trip element set to 33.5 Amps (13 times In). In the event of a catastrophic short circuit, the breaker trips instantaneously. It has a high breaking capacity, typically rated for 100kA at 230V or 100kA at 400/415V, ensuring it can safely handle major electrical faults in high-power industrial environments.
- One of the most valuable features for 3-phase motor users is phase failure sensitivity. If one phase is lost (a common cause of motor burnout in Canada during storms or utility issues), the GV2ME07 detects the imbalance and trips the circuit. This proactive protection can save a $500 motor from a "silent killer" electrical fault.
