Description
Stab-Lok circuit breakers are one, two, and three pole thermal magnetic circuit breakers that provide arc fault circuit interrupters for Federal Pioneer panels. They have easy to read color coded handles to differentiate ampere ratings. This breaker is a two pole 15A, 120/240VAC moulded case breaker with plug in mounting. This circuit breaker meets CSA standards.
Features
- The Schneider Electric NC0215 (often branded under the Federal Pioneer name) is a specialized "Spacesaver" or "wafer" circuit breaker. While it is a 2-pole breaker, it is only 1-inch wide. This unique design allows Canadian homeowners and electricians to squeeze a 240V circuit into a single standard 1-inch slot in a Stab-lok® panelboard, effectively doubling the circuit capacity of the panel.
- This breaker is rated for 15 Amps. Because it occupies two bus stabs but maintains a slim profile, it is typically used for light-duty 240V loads or two separate 120V circuits that share a neutral (multi-wire branch circuits). Common applications in Canada include small baseboard heaters, dedicated workshop circuits, or powering multi-outlet bedroom runs where panel space is at a premium.
- The NC0215 utilizes standard thermal-magnetic trip technology. The thermal element protects against long-term overloads (like plugging in too many devices), while the magnetic element provides near-instantaneous tripping during a short circuit. This dual-action protection ensures your wiring is protected from overheating and catastrophic electrical faults.
- A hallmark of the Schneider/Federal Pioneer line is the color-coded handle. For 15-Amp breakers like the NC0215, the handles are typically Blue. This allows for "at-a-glance" auditing of a panel; an electrician can instantly see that a circuit is a 15-amp line without having to pull the deadfront or read tiny embossed text on the breaker body.
- This is a plug-on (Stab-lok®) breaker. It features the classic "U" shaped mounting jaw that snaps onto the busbar of a Federal Pioneer panel. Note that this breaker is proprietary to the Stab-lok® system and is not compatible with Square D, Eaton, or Siemens panels. It is strictly a replacement or expansion part for the millions of Federal Pioneer panels still in service across Canada.
