Description
2601 reversing drum switches are designed to starting and reversing motors by connecting them directly across the line. The devices can be used with squirrel cage and single-phase motors designed for reversing service. Can be used with AC or DC motors. Drum switches are field convertible from maintained to momentary operation. A variety of enclosures are available. A NEMA 4 watertight and dusttight enclosure is used to protect this switch. Enclosure is 6.89 inches tall, 4.40 inches wide and 5.50 inches deep. Drum switches are UL listed and CSA certified.
Features
- Engineered for demanding mechanical setups, this 3-pole switch directly reverses squirrel cage AC motors and DC series/shunt motors up to 7.5 horsepower at 575V. It serves as an industrial-grade manual controller for high-torque workshop machinery like lathes, milling equipment, and small hoists, ensuring crisp, reliable motor directional shifts.
- Encased in a rugged, dusttight and watertight 304 stainless steel enclosure, this unit shields internal electrical contacts from spraying water, oil, and atmospheric debris. Measuring 6.89 inches tall by 4.40 inches wide, it provides indoor and outdoor environmental protection that satisfies the safety mandates of modern fabrication facilities and processing plants.
- Outfitted with durable Type B pressure-wire connectors and highly accessible screw-clamp terminals, the drum switch streamlines point-to-point field wiring. The internal architecture features spacious wiring clearways alongside pre-installed 1/2-inch conduit entry hubs, reducing termination stress and preventing hot-spot resistance gaps behind the plated, high-conductivity stationary contact fingers.
- Engineered with maximum ratings of 600V AC and 250V DC, this robust manual starter accommodates versatile high-voltage power networks. It is fully UL Listed and CSA Certified to satisfy localized code compliance, guaranteeing that your industrial control systems, conveyor arrays, and commercial equipment distributions operate safely under continuous full-load conditions.
