Description
Amp-Trap 2000® AJT fuses provide non-indication as well as a SmartSpot visual open fuse indicator. With advanced material technology the AJT fuse provides IEC Type 2 No Damage protection to main, feeder, and branch circuits, for all types of loads — yet, they require only half the mounting space needed for 600VAC Class RK fuses. AJT’s time-delay characteristics are ideal for handling typical motor and transformer inrush currents, while also providing superior current-limiting ability.

- The Mersen AJT5N is a standard Class J, 5-Amp current-limiting fuse designed for use in specialized 600V fuse blocks and disconnect switches. Its standardized physical dimensions ensure a perfect fit in any Class J mounting, preventing the accidental installation of non-current-limiting fuses into critical circuits that require high-tier protection.
- Featuring Time-Delay (Slow-Blow) characteristics, the AJT5N is specifically engineered to handle the momentary current surges associated with motor starting and transformer inrush. It provides a minimum 10-second delay at 500% of its rated current, allowing your machinery to get up to speed without "nuisance tripping," while still offering rapid protection against sustained overloads.
- With a massive 200,000 Amp Interrupting Rating (AIR) at 600V AC, this fuse is built to safely extinguish the most violent short-circuit currents. This ultra-high rating is critical for meeting Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) requirements for Service Entrance equipment and industrial control panels where high fault currents are present.
- The AJT5N is a current-limiting device, meaning it reacts so quickly to a short circuit that it prevents the fault current from ever reaching its full destructive peak. This "energy-limiting" performance protects sensitive components like VFDs, PLCs, and contactors from mechanical and thermal damage, extending the life of your expensive industrial hardware.
