Description

Amp-Trap 2000® AJT fuses provide non-indication as well as a SmartSpot visual open fuse indicator. With advanced material technology the AJT fuse provides IEC Type 2 No Damage protection to main, feeder, and branch circuits, for all types of loads — yet, they require only half the mounting space needed for 600VAC Class RK fuses. AJT’s time-delay characteristics are ideal for handling typical motor and transformer inrush currents, while also providing superior current-limiting ability.

Features

  • Engineered with a deliberate time-delay characteristic, the AJT7N handles high inrush currents without opening, making it ideal for motor circuits and inductive loads. This prevents unnecessary downtime caused by "nuisance trips" while still providing high-speed response to dangerous short-circuit events.
  • As a Class J current-limiting fuse, the AJT7N reacts in less than half a cycle to interrupt fault currents before they reach their full peak. This "low let-thru" energy protects delicate solid-state components, motor starters, and breakers from catastrophic thermal and magnetic stress, often allowing for a higher Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) for your control panel.
  • The Class J physical dimensions are significantly smaller than equivalent Class R or Class K fuses, allowing for more compact fuse blocks and disconnect switches. This density is a critical benefit for industrial engineers looking to minimize enclosure size while maintaining a 600VAC/200kA interrupt rating.
  • Built with no moving parts and a rugged glass-melamine body, the AJT7N is designed for superior dimensional stability and high-impact resistance. Its silver-plated copper contacts ensure low-resistance connectivity and long-term reliability in harsh manufacturing environments where vibration or thermal cycling is common.
