Description
Homeline miniature circuit breakers are engineered and designed for fast installation and superior circuit protection. Homeline circuit breakers are designed to plug into Homeline load centers to provide circuit protection. This circuit breaker provides standard circuit protection and is HACR rated. This 1 pole circuit breaker with plug in mounting is rated 2A at 12/24 VAC. HOM breakers provide 1 kA breaking capacity. The electrical connection is a clamp terminal that will accept 2 wires. The clamp terminal will accept a wire range of 14 AWG to 8 AWG copper or aluminum wire. This circuit breaker has a height of 3.13 inches, a width of 1. inch and depth of 2.98 inches. Features
- The CHOM120 is a single-pole, 20-Amp Homeline (CHOM) Miniature Circuit Breaker. It is the workhorse of residential electrical systems, designed to protect 120V branch circuits from overloads and short circuits. It is commonly used for high-demand areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and garages where 20-Amp capacity is required for power tools, appliances, or hair dryers.
- This breaker is engineered exclusively for Schneider Electric Homeline load centers. It uses a 1-inch wide plug-on mounting design. It is not compatible with the Square D QO (Premium) line, nor will it fit into panels from Eaton, Siemens, or GE. Always check for the "Homeline" branding on your panel door to ensure a safe mechanical connection.
- The CHOM120 is built with a "Quick-Make, Quick-Break" mechanism, which snaps the contacts together or apart rapidly. This reduces internal arcing and heat buildup, significantly extending the life of the breaker. It is also SWD (Switch Duty) rated, meaning it is specifically approved for the frequent switching of fluorescent or LED lighting loads.
- To safely handle a 20-Amp load, this breaker should be paired with 12 AWG copper wire. Its box-lug terminals are designed to provide a secure, high-pressure connection for both copper and aluminum conductors (#14 to #8 AWG). The simple "plug-on" installation allows it to be snapped onto the bus bar in seconds, making it a favorite for fast-paced residential construction.
- The Schneider Electric CHOM120 is fully CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certified and meets all requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
