Description
CHOM Homeline miniature circuit breakers are engineered and designed for fast installation and superior circuit protection. Homeline circuit breakers are designed to plug into Homeline load centers to provide circuit protection. This circuit breaker provides standard circuit protection and is HACR rated. This 2 pole circuit breaker with plug in mounting is rated 60 A at 120/240 VAC. CHOM breakers provide 10 kA breaking capacity. The electrical connections are box lugs. The box lugs will accept a wire range of 8 AWG to 2 AWG copper or aluminum wire. This circuit breaker has a height of 3.13 inches, a width of 2.0 inch and depth of 2.98 inches. CHOM Homeline miniature circuit breakers are CSA certified.
Features
- The CHOM260 is a 60-Amp, 2-pole Homeline circuit breaker designed to provide simultaneous overcurrent protection for both "hot" legs of a 120/240V AC circuit. It is the standard heavy-duty solution for high-demand residential applications, such as sub-panel feeders, large electric furnaces, or high-capacity EV charging stations.
- Engineered with an internal common-trip mechanism, the CHOM260 ensures that if one leg of the circuit experiences a fault, both poles trip at exactly the same time. This prevents "single-phasing"—a dangerous condition where an appliance remains partially energized—protecting your expensive motors and heating elements from burnout and reducing the risk of electrical fires.
- This breaker is designed specifically for Square D Homeline (Canadian) load centers. It utilizes a 2-inch wide (two 1-inch spaces) plug-on design for a fast and secure connection to the bus bar. Note: It is not compatible with Square D QO (Blue Label), Siemens, Eaton, or GE panels.
- The CHOM260 features robust box-lug terminals that provide high-torque clamping for both copper and aluminum conductors. Rated for wire sizes up to #2 AWG, these terminals ensure a gas-tight, vibration-resistant connection that maintains electrical integrity even under the high thermal loads associated with 60-Amp service.
- Designed by Schneider Electric, the CHOM260 features a high-speed "Quick-Make, Quick-Break" mechanism. This design minimizes internal arcing during the switching process, which significantly extends the contact life of the breaker and ensures reliable performance over decades of residential use.
