Description
Schneider Electric's Square D heavy duty safety switch is designed to be tough, reliable and provide exceptional performance in the most grueling conditions. All heavy duty safety switches feature a quick-make, quick-break operating mechanism, a dual cover interlock, and a color coded indicator handle. They also come with many field installable or factory installed accessories. This electrical interlock for switches rated 30A to 60A comes in kit form for field installation. A pivot arm operates from switch mechanism, breaking the control circuit before the main switch blades break. Each kit contains instructions for proper field mounting. It is UL listed.

- Featuring a robust DPDT configuration rated for 60 Amps, this safety switch allows industrial electricians to seamlessly isolate or transfer power between two independent sources or loads. This heavy-duty contact architecture ensures crisp, clean breaking under full load, preventing dangerous phase-to-phase short circuits and providing a reliable manual transfer solution for backup generators or dual-motor control systems.
- Built with a factory-engineered mechanical key interlock mechanism, this safety switch enforces a strict, fail-safe operational sequence. The interlock ensures the switch cannot be thrown or the enclosure door opened unless the specific safety key is inserted and turned. This bulletproof physical barrier eliminates human error, protecting maintenance crews from arc flash hazards and ensuring strict compliance with facility lockout-tagout (LOTO) safety protocols.
- Housed in a rugged, code-compliant industrial enclosure, the EIK032 is engineered to deflect heavy impacts, moisture, windblown dust, and corrosive airborne elements. The heavy-gauge steel construction and durable finish make it an ideal choice for placement on exposed commercial rooftops, aggregate processing plants, and washdown-heavy manufacturing floors, severely reducing structural degradation and extending equipment life.
- This safety switch utilizes highly visible blades that provide immediate, unmistakable visual confirmation of the circuit status when the enclosure door is opened. Backed by high-efficiency arc suppressors, the assembly rapidly snuffs out electrical arcing during high-current interruptions, preventing internal component degradation and providing an extra layer of physical safety for operators during routine switching tasks.
