Description
Square D™ loadcentre surge protective devices, SDSA2040, are easy to install plug-in units that install as quickly as a standard circuit breaker. The surge suppressors use two pole spaces in a QO™ or Homeline™ loadcentre, or NQ panelboard. US and Canadian UL® Listed as Type 2 SPD to the UL 1449 standard. Complies with requirements of NEC® Article 285, CSA 233.1-87, and CSA C22.2 No. 8- M1986 as appropriate.
Features
- Protective Device (SPD) per UL 1449 4th Edition standards, this Square D by Schneider Electric unit delivers complete design flexibility. It can be installed safely on either the line or load side of your main electrical service entrance, allowing plant electricians to isolate upstream utility surges before they ever penetrate the facility distribution panel.
- This Surgelogic device features a 40 kA peak surge current rating per phase and a 10 kA nominal discharge current (In). This ultra-fast suppression architecture clamps incoming lightning strikes and utility switching transients in microseconds, safeguarding automated production lines and building electronics from catastrophic voltage breakdown.
- This heavy-duty module is engineered precisely for 3-phase, 4-wire Wye (Star) electrical setups rated at 208Y/120V AC.
- Designed with an integrated local signaling window, the device utilizes a high-visibility green status LED for instantaneous diagnostic tracking. As long as the LED remains lit, your downstream three-phase infrastructure is fully secure; if the light goes out, the module has sacrificed itself during a surge event and requires replacement. The compact 3.07" x 3.62" chassis includes pre-wired #12 AWG copper leads to ensure a swift, direct back-nipple or panel-mount installation.
