Description
CHOMT Homeline miniature circuit breakers are engineered and designed for fast installation and superior circuit protection. Homeline circuit breakers are designed to plug into Homeline load centers to provide circuit protection. This breaker consists of a two pole breaker in the middle and a single breaker on each side. It provides a standard circuit protection and is HACR rated. The two pole breaker is rated 15A at 120/240VAC and the single pole breakers are rated 15A and 15A at 120/240VAC. This circuit breaker provides 10kA breaking capacity. This quad tandem breaker will accept 14 AWG to 8 AWG copper or aluminum wire. CHOMT tandem breakers are CSA certified.
Features
- The CHOMT1515215 is a specialized "Quad" tandem circuit breaker from the Schneider Electric Homeline (CHOM) series. It packs four circuits into just two 1-inch spaces. This "2-over-2" design provides two single-pole 15A circuits on the outside and one double-pole 15A circuit on the inside, maximizing panel density for complex residential wiring.
- This breaker consists of: Outer Poles: Two independent 15-Amp single-pole breakers (standard 120V circuits). Inner Poles: One 15-Amp double-pole breaker with an internal common trip (standard 240V circuit). This allows you to power a 240V appliance (like a small heater) and two 120V lighting or outlet circuits while only using two slots in your panel.
- This breaker is specifically for Schneider Electric Homeline (CHOM) panels. Because it is a tandem-style breaker, it features a physical "rejection" hook on the bottom; it will only install in panel slots specifically designed to accept tandem breakers (indicated by a notch in the bus bar). It is not compatible with Square D QO, Eaton, or Siemens panels.
- The center two poles are physically and internally linked. If a fault or overload occurs on either side of the 240V circuit, both center poles trip simultaneously to prevent "single-phasing." The two outer 15A handles operate independently, so a trip on a bedroom light circuit won't shut down your 240V heater.
- The CHOMT1515215 is fully CSA Certified and meets all Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) requirements. It features high-quality screw-clamp terminals that accept #14 to #8 AWG copper or aluminum wire. With a 10,000 AIR rating, it is a reliable, professional solution for adding significant circuit capacity to Canadian homes during renovations.
