Description
CHOMT Homeline miniature circuit breakers are engineered and designed for fast installation and superior circuit protection. Homeline circuit breakers are designed to plug into Homeline load centers to provide circuit protection. This CHOMT circuit breaker is two single pole thermal magnetic circuit breakers manufactured in tandem. This tandem breaker occupies only one HOM pole space. Each single pole CHOMT plug in circuit breaker provides an individual switching and tripping action. This tandem CHOMT miniature tandem breaker with plug in mounting is rated 20 A and 20 A at 120/240 V. This circuit breaker provides 10 kA breaking capacity. This tandem breaker will accept 14 AWG to 8 AWG copper or aluminum wire. The tandem breaker is 3.13 inches tall, 1.00 inches wide and 2.98 inches deep. CHOMT tandem breakers are CSA certified.
Features
- The CHOMT2020 is a dual-circuit "tandem" breaker that provides two independent 20-Amp circuits in the physical footprint of a single 1-inch slot. This is the ideal solution for crowded electrical panels, allowing you to add a new circuit for a kitchen, bathroom, or garage outlet without the significant expense of replacing the entire load center.
- Unlike a double-pole breaker, the CHOMT2020 features two independent handles that operate two separate 120V branch circuits. This allows you to protect two distinct areas of your home such as a small appliance circuit and a bedroom lighting circuit completely independent of one another.
- This breaker is engineered exclusively for Square D Homeline (Canadian) load centers. It features a specialized mounting foot known as a "rejection feature," which ensures it can only be installed in panel slots specifically designed by the manufacturer to accept tandem breakers. Note: It is not compatible with Square D QO (Blue Label), Siemens, Eaton, or GE panels.
- The CHOMT2020 is fully CSA Certified for use in Canada and meets all modern requirements for residential overcurrent protection. With a 10,000 AIR (Amperes Interrupting Rating), it provides the high-level safety necessary to protect your home's wiring from the thermal and magnetic forces of a short circuit.
- Featuring high-quality pressure plate terminals, this breaker ensures a secure, vibration-resistant connection for both copper and aluminum wiring (typically #14 to #8 AWG). The plug-on design allows for a quick and reliable "snap-in" installation, reducing labor time for electricians while providing a gas-tight electrical bond to the panel's bus bar.
