Description
TeSys LRD thermal overload relay, 40A/690V, thermal setting range 30-40A, tripping class 10A, for protection of 3-phase motors 18.5kW@400V. Differential device with phase failure and load unbalance detection. It provides a thermal adjustement dial, a manual-automatic reset selector, a test selector for simulation of a tripping, reset and stop buttons, a flag indicator and 2 auxiliary contacts 1NO+1NC for fault signalling. Settings are protected by a transparent cover lockable by sealing. Connection by EverLink BTR screw terminals , it connects directly to the bottom terminals of 3-pole contactors LC1D40A-D80A. Mounting on DIN rail or screw fixing, separated from the contactor, with use of a terminal block LAD96560 (to be ordered separately). Multi standards certified (IEC, UL, CSA, CCC, EAC, Marine), Green Premium compliant (RoHs/Reach).

- Engineered for seamless mechanical and electrical integration, this thermal overload relay plugs directly into the bottom of Schneider Electric TeSys D contactors (LC1D40A through LC1D65A). This direct-mount capability eliminates the need for extra wiring and DIN rail space, providing a compact, vibration-resistant connection that simplifies your motor starter assembly and reduces installation labor costs.
- Featuring a dedicated adjustment dial, this relay allows you to fine-tune the protection setting between 30 and 40 Amps to match your specific motor's Full Load Amperage (FLA). This precision prevents premature "nuisance" tripping while ensuring the bimetallic elements provide highly responsive protection against phase unbalance and prolonged overloads that can lead to costly motor burnout.
- Designed with Class 10 tripping characteristics, this relay ensures your motor is disconnected within 10 seconds under a locked-rotor condition, preventing catastrophic heat buildup. It also includes advanced differential tripping for phase failure sensitivity, automatically detecting a "single-phasing" event and shutting down the circuit to protect your expensive industrial pumps, fans, and compressors from internal winding damage.
- Equipped with a blue "Reset" button and a red "Stop" button, this unit offers flexible control over your system recovery. The selectable manual or automatic reset modes allow you to tailor the system to your facility's safety protocols—preventing unexpected restarts in dangerous areas—while the built-in test trip simulation allows technicians to verify control circuit integrity without waiting for a real fault.
