    Description

TeSys LRD overload relays are designed to be used with TeSys D contactors to make a motor starter. This overload relay can be used with 9 amp through 38 amp TeSys D contactors. These differential thermal overload relays detect over currents in the lines to the motor. When an overcurrent is detected the overload relay working with the contactor will disconnect the power to the motor. This will minimize the damage to the motor windings. This overload relay has an adjustable trip current rating of 2.5 to 4.0 amperes. This trip current rating is calibrated per Class 10A. Multi standards certified (IEC, UL, CSA, CCC, EAC, ATEX, Marine).

    Features

    • The LRD08 is a TeSys Deca (formerly TeSys D) differential thermal overload relay. Its primary job is to protect three-phase AC motors against overloads and phase failures. Unlike a fuse or breaker that handles short circuits, the LRD08 monitors the heat generated by the motor's current to prevent the windings from burning out during sustained heavy use.
    • This model features an adjustable current setting range of 2.5 to 4 Amperes. You dial the blue arrow to match the Full Load Amps (FLA) listed on your motor's nameplate. It is a Class 10A device, meaning it will trip within 10 seconds or less when the current reaches 7.2 times the setting, providing a perfect balance for standard motor startups.
    • The LRD08 is designed for "direct mounting" beneath Schneider TeSys Deca contactors, specifically models LC1D09 through LC1D38. It plugs directly into the bottom of the contactor, creating a compact, integrated motor starter assembly. It can also be mounted independently on a DIN rail if used with a separate terminal block (LAD7B106).
    • This is a differential relay, meaning it is highly sensitive to phase imbalance. If one of the three phases loses power or drops significantly in voltage, the LRD08 will trip much faster than a standard thermal relay. This is critical for preventing "single-phasing," which is a leading cause of industrial motor failure.
    • The unit includes integrated auxiliary contacts (1 NO + 1 NC) used to signal a fault or cut power to the contactor coil. It features a multi-function red "Stop" button and a blue "Reset" selector that can be set to: Manual (H): Requires a human to press the button to restart. Automatic (A): Resets itself once the internal bi-metallic strips cool down.
