Description

TeSys LRD overload relays are designed to be used with TeSys D contactors to make a motor starter. This overload relay can be used with 9 amp through 38 amp TeSys D contactors. These differential thermal overload relays detect over currents in the lines to the motor. When an overcurrent is detected the overload relay working with the contactor will disconnect the power to the motor. This will minimize the damage to the motor windings. This overload relay has an adjustable trip current rating of 0.63 to 1.0 amperes. This trip current rating is calibrated per Class 10A. Multi standards certified (IEC, UL, CSA, CCC, EAC, ATEX, Marine).

Features

  • The Schneider Electric LRD05 features a precision adjustment dial with a setting range of 0.63 to 1 Amp. This allows industrial electricians to dial in the exact Full Load Amps (FLA) of a small motor, providing tailored protection that prevents overheating while eliminating the nuisance tripping common with fixed-rated thermal units.
  • Engineered for seamless integration, the LRD05 plug-on design connects directly to the load side of TeSys Deca (LC1D09 through LC1D38) contactors. This "no-wire" connection creates a compact, professional motor starter assembly, saving valuable DIN rail space and reducing wiring errors in crowded control cabinets.
  • Equipped with advanced differential bimetallic technology, this relay detects phase unbalance and phase loss. If one phase drops out a common cause of rapid motor burnout the LRD05 trips automatically to disconnect the power, safeguarding your expensive machinery from catastrophic failure.
  • The unit features a dual-function blue button that allows you to choose between Manual and Automatic reset modes. This flexibility is critical for Canadian facilities; use "Manual" for localized safety checks or "Automatic" for hard-to-reach equipment where the system needs to self-recover once the bimetallic strips have cooled.
  • The LRD05 comes standard with 1 NO (Normally Open) + 1 NC (Normally Closed) isolated auxiliary contacts. The NC contact is used to break the contactor coil circuit upon a fault, while the NO contact provides a feedback signal to trigger an alarm or notify a PLC, ensuring maintenance teams are alerted immediately.
