Description
Features
- The LRD14 is a TeSys Deca differential thermal overload relay designed to protect AC motors from overloads and phase failures. It monitors the current drawn by the motor and automatically trips the associated contactor if the current stays above the set limit for too long, preventing permanent damage to the motor windings from excessive heat.
- Featuring an adjustable current setting range of 7 to 10 Amps, the LRD14 allows for precision calibration based on your motor's Full Load Amps (FLA). By using the integrated dial to match the motor's nameplate rating, you ensure a custom protection profile that prevents nuisance tripping while providing a critical safety net against mechanical jams or electrical faults.
- This relay is "differential," meaning it is specifically engineered to detect phase loss or phase unbalance. If one phase fails—a common cause of rapid motor burnout—the LRD14 detects the discrepancy between the phases and trips faster than a standard relay, shielding your equipment from catastrophic failure even under partial power conditions.
- The LRD14 is equipped with 1 NO (Normally Open) + 1 NC (Normally Closed) auxiliary contacts. These allow you to integrate the relay into your control logic; the NC contact is used to drop out the contactor coil, while the NO contact can be wired to a PLC input or a "Fault" pilot light to alert operators exactly why the machine has stopped.
- The relay features a selector blue lever that allows you to choose between Manual or Automatic reset. In Manual mode, a technician must physically inspect the machine and press the reset button after a trip, ensuring the cause of the overload is addressed. Automatic mode is ideal for remote installations where the motor can safely restart once it has cooled down.
