Description
TeSys LRD thermal overload relay, 18A/690V, thermal setting range 12-18A, tripping class 10A, for protection of 3-phase motors 7.5kW@400V. Differential device with phase failure and load unbalance detection. It provides a thermal adjustement dial, a manual-automatic reset selector, a test selector for simulation of a tripping, reset and stop buttons, a flag indicator and 2 auxiliary contacts 1NO+1NC for fault signalling. Settings are protected by a transparent cover lockable by sealing. Connection by screw clamp terminals, it connects directly to the bottom terminals of 3-pole contactors LC1D18-D38. Mounting on DIN rail or screw fixing, separated from the contactor, with use of a terminal block LAD7B106 (to be ordered separately). Multi standards certified (IEC, UL, CSA, CCC, EAC, ATEX, Marine), Green Premium compliant (RoHs/Reach).

- The Schneider Electric Canada LRD216 features a wide thermal protection adjustment dial spanning 12 to 18 Amps, allowing you to fine-tune your motor control circuit exactly to your machine's full-load amps (FLA). This flexible setting prevents premature tripping caused by standard current fluctuations while providing highly responsive defense against destructive overcurrent conditions.
- Engineered for seamless integration within the TeSys Deca and TeSys D ecosystems, this thermal overload relay connects directly to the bottom terminals of LC1D18, LC1D25, LC1D32, and LC1D38 three-pole contactors. This direct-mount architecture drastically reduces panel assembly time, eliminates terminal wiring errors, and minimizes your overall footprint inside the control enclosure.
- Built as a differential device with phase failure and load unbalance detection, the LRD216 monitors all three phases simultaneously and will trip if a single phase drops or experiences a current imbalance of 130% or more. This prevents your three-phase motors from overheating or burning out due to sudden voltage drops, ensuring long-term hardware reliability in demanding manufacturing environments.
- This specific LRD216 variant is manufactured with robust lugs-ring terminals on the power circuit to handle heavy industrial vibration without loosening over time. It guarantees a highly secure, low-resistance connection for ring tongue terminals tightened up to 2.3 N.m of torque, protecting your control circuit against arcing and loose-wire faults in high-vibration machinery.
- Providing absolute compliance for strict commercial and industrial installations, this thermal overload relay carries dual UL 60947 and CSA C22.2 certifications, alongside CE, ATEX, and Marine approvals. It features an IP20 finger-safe enclosure rating and a V1 flame retardance classification, allowing you to confidently pass electrical inspections and maintain high safety standards.
