Description
Features
- The LRD22 is a TeSys Deca differential thermal overload relay designed to protect AC motors against overloads and phase failures. It monitors the current drawn by the motor and, if it exceeds the set threshold for a specific period, it trips the associated contactor to cut power, preventing permanent insulation damage and motor burnout.
- The LRD22 features a precise adjustment dial ranging from 16 to 24 Amps. This allows you to match the protection exactly to your motor's Full Load Amps (FLA) as listed on its nameplate. It provides Class 10 protection, meaning it will trip within 10 seconds at six times the rated current—perfect for standard industrial startups.
- This relay is specifically engineered to detect phase unbalance or phase loss. If one phase fails (single-phasing), the internal differential mechanism detects the discrepancy and trips the motor faster than a standard overload relay. This is critical because a motor running on two phases will quickly overheat and fail.
- The unit is equipped with 1 NO (Normally Open) + 1 NC (Normally Closed) auxiliary contacts. In a typical control circuit, the NC contact is wired to the contactor coil to stop the motor on a fault, while the NO contact is used to trigger a fault light or send a signal to a PLC for remote diagnostics.
- The LRD22 features a blue selector lever that lets you choose between Manual or Automatic reset modes. Manual reset is standard for safety, requiring a technician to check the machine before restarting. It also includes an integrated "Test" button to simulate a trip and a "Stop" button to manually break the control circuit.
