    Description

    TeSys LRD thermal overload relay, 18A/690V, thermal setting range 12-18A, tripping class 10A, for protection of 3-phase motors 7.5kW@400V. Differential device with phase failure and load unbalance detection. It provides a thermal adjustement dial, a manual-automatic reset selector, a test selector for simulation of a tripping, reset and stop buttons, a flag indicator and 2 auxiliary contacts 1NO+1NC for fault signalling. Settings are protected by a transparent cover lockable by sealing. Connection by screw clamp terminals, it connects directly to the bottom terminals of 3-pole contactors LC1D18-D38. Mounting on DIN rail or screw fixing, separated from the contactor, with use of a terminal block LAD7B106 (to be ordered separately). Multi standards certified (IEC, UL, CSA, CCC, EAC, ATEX, Marine), Green Premium compliant (RoHs/Reach).

    Features

    • The LRD21 is a TeSys Deca differential thermal overload relay designed to protect AC motors against overloads and phase failures. It acts as a critical safety barrier by monitoring the current drawn by the motor and automatically tripping the associated contactor if the current stays above the set limit, preventing permanent insulation damage and motor burnout.
    • Featuring a precise adjustment dial ranging from 12 to 18 Amps, the LRD21 allows you to tailor the protection profile to your motor's specific Full Load Amps (FLA). This ensures a high level of accuracy that prevents nuisance tripping during normal operation while providing a rapid response to mechanical jams or electrical faults.
    • This relay features a "differential" design, making it highly sensitive to phase loss or phase unbalance. If one phase fails—a common cause of rapid motor failure—the LRD21 detects the discrepancy and trips the circuit faster than a standard overload, shielding your equipment from the extreme heat buildup caused by single-phasing.
    • The LRD21 is equipped with 1 NO (Normally Open) + 1 NC (Normally Closed) auxiliary contacts. These allow for seamless integration into your control logic; the NC contact is used to break the contactor coil circuit to stop the motor, while the NO contact can trigger a "Fault" pilot light or send a signal to a PLC for immediate diagnostic feedback.
    • The unit features a blue selector lever that allows you to choose between Manual or Automatic reset modes. Manual mode ensures a technician must physically inspect the machinery before restarting, while the integrated "Test" and "Stop" buttons allow for safe verification of the control circuit without disconnecting any wiring.
