Description
TeSys LRD overload relays are designed to be used with TeSys D contactors to make a motor starter. This overload relay can be used with 80 amp through 95 amp TeSys D contactors. These differential thermal overload relays detect over currents in the lines to the motor. When an overcurrent is detected the overload relay working with the contactor will disconnect the power to the motor. This will minimize the damage to the motor windings. This overload relay has an adjustable trip current rating of 30 to 40 amperes. This trip current rating is calibrated per Class 10A. Multi standards certified (IEC, UL, CSA, CCC, EAC, ATEX, Marine).
Features
- Engineered for seamless integration, this thermal overload relay plugs directly into the bottom of LC1D80 and LC1D95 TeSys D contactors without the need for additional wiring or mounting hardware. This "plug-and-play" design reduces installation time by up to 50%, minimizes potential wiring errors, and creates a compact, space-saving motor starter assembly inside your control cabinet.
- Featuring a high-precision adjustment dial, this relay allows you to set the protection threshold exactly between 30A and 40A to match your motor's Full Load Amps (FLA). This granular control ensures your 3-phase motor is protected against subtle overheating conditions that cause insulation breakdown, effectively extending the lifespan of your expensive industrial equipment.
- Built with sophisticated differential tripping technology, the LRD3355 detects phase imbalance and single-phasing conditions (phase loss) almost instantly. By cutting power the moment an unbalanced load is detected, it prevents catastrophic motor burnout a common and costly failure in industrial pump and fan applications where power quality can fluctuate.
- Equipped with a blue "Reset" button and a selector for manual or automatic modes, this unit gives facility managers total control over system uptime. The manual mode forces an inspection before restart for safety, while the integrated "Test" and "Stop" functions allow technicians to simulate a trip, ensuring the control circuit is fully operational without risk to the connected load.
- As a Class 10 overload, this device is designed to trip within 10 seconds of a locked-rotor condition (600% of setting), providing the ideal balance for standard industrial loads. This rapid response time protects your motor windings from the extreme heat generated during mechanical jams or heavy-load startups, ensuring compliance with UL and IEC 60947-4-1 global safety standards.
